Everton open to Wayne Rooney return?
Everton boss Ronald Koeman could reportedly sanction a fresh move for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney at the end of the season.
The England international was the subject of a failed transfer approach from the Toffees during the winter period.
According to The Mirror, the Merseysiders will consider a new attempt to sign their former graduate this summer as they seek to offer him regular first-team football.
The 31-year-old has been largely a squad player for United this term, and he has been completely left out in recent outings as he looks to overcome minor injury issues.
Prior to his side's game versus Sunderland, Koeman refused to comment on the speculation, but he did not dismiss the club's chances of landing the experienced marksman.
Rooney recently highlighted his commitment towards Manchester United after he snubbed a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League which would have earned him wages in excess of £600,000-a-week.
His wages still remain a stumbling block for top European clubs, and the striker would have to take a significant pay cut to realise his move to Everton this summer.
