Donnarumma lined up as De Gea replacement

Jose Mourinho has reportedly earmarked AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma as a potential replacement for goalkeeper David de Gea this summer.

De Gea, 26, has been long on the radar of Real Madrid with the Spaniard having failed to clinch his dream move due to a delay in paperwork in the summer of 2015.

The Spain international has assured that he is committed to the club's cause this campaign, but this does not generate any confidence to the manager.

According to The Mirror, Mourinho has already begun the search for potential replacement with a certain Donnarumma leading the shortlist.

Donnarumma, who turned 18 yesterday, has captured the attention of Europe's elite following his breakthrough spell for the Rossoneri at the tender age of 16.

He is already tipped to be the heir of Gianluigi Buffon for Italy, once the veteran Juventus stopper calls quits on his professional career.

The teenager has already amassed over 50 appearances for the San Siro outfit, and United could face competition from close rivals Manchester City for his signature.

City boss Pep Guardiola is dissatisfied with the work of summer recruit Claudio Bravo, and this has seen Wilfried Caballero recently get the nod between the sticks.
