Arsenal to bar Alexis Sanchez from joining rival?
Arsenal will reportedly prevent Alexis Sanchez from joining a league rival during the summer transfer window.
The Chile international has shown no intent to extend his contract beyond the end of next season, and this is likely to urge the Gunners to cash in on his signature this summer.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea are said to be keeping tabs on the attacker's situation at the Emirates, but according to The Mail, the Gunners will bar Sanchez from negotiating with a league rival.
The likes of Ashley Cole, Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie have all gone on to win titles with rival clubs over the years, and the club will not allow Sanchez to boost their competitors next season.
Speculation over Sanchez's future has intensified in recent days amid an alleged fallout between him and Arsene Wenger in training last week.
Sanchez, who is the club's top-scorer with 20 goals, will seek to earn some pride for Arsenal on Tuesday night when they host Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16, second-leg, with a 5-1 deficit.
