Pep set sights on recruiting home-grown talents

Manchester City Pep Guardiola has plans of going on a home-grown spending spree during the summer transfer window.

The Citizens boss is due to allow the exits of Joe Hart, Gael Clichy and Fabian Delph at the end of the season, and this could, in turn, reduce the home-grown quota.

While Pep admits that he may have to jump into his side's youth squad, who are on the verge of their straight FA Youth Cup final, there is still the possibility of luring of some of the best talents from England.

Out of those, Tottenham Hotspur full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere are in the summer shortlist, and Pep hints that he could spend big as he likes to work with more with the 'local players' in his squad.

Both Walker and Rose have been crucial to Spurs' progress in the league over the years and it could be hard to lure them unless City cough up fees in excess of £50m for each.

Meanwhile, Wilshere, currently on loan at Bournemouth, looks more likely to leave the Emirates in the summer as he has yet to pen an extension beyond the summer of 2018.
