Guardiola to swap Hart for Schmeichel

Guardiola knows that Manchester City must improve this summer if they are to challenge for the Premi

It's fair to say that Pep Guardiola's first season in charge at Manchester City has been turbulent. There were signs of that early on when the Spanish manager made the controversial decision to loan out long term goalkeeper Joe Hart. Despite City struggling in that department all season, it appears that the England goalkeeper still has no future at the club.

The Daily Mail today reports that Pep Guardiola has been very impressed with the performances of Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this season. Not only is Schmeichel a highly skilled shot stopper, but he is also rated as one of the best footballing goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Claudio Bravo has struggled at Manchester City, and his career at the Etihad may be coming to an end already. It is said that Guardiola would see Schmeichel, who has previously played for the Manchester club, as his new first choice goalkeeper.

With Joe Hart returning from his loan spell in Italy at the end of the season. Manchester City may use him in a part exchange deal, in an attempt to persuade last season's Premier League champions to sell.

The Foxes will not want to sell their key player, but with the offer of another established international goalkeeper on the table, they may just be tempted to do business with Guardiola's team.
