Arsenal set to bid for Thorgan Hazard
Arsenal will look towards Borussia Mönchengladbach's Thorgan Hazard to solve their problems upfront for next season.
Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad reported that Arsenal and Everton are looking to bring Thorgan Hazard, Eden Hazard's brother, to the Premier League and despite Mönchengladbach's reluctance to sell the forward, they will still be open for negotiations if their asking price is met.
Arsenal reportedly approached Mönchengladbach with an initial bid of €17 million but was immediately turned down. They are said to be looking for at least €25 million for the 24-year-old Belgian international.
Arsenal have not had a prolific striker for a number of seasons and Wenger had to convert Alexis Sanchez from a winger into a centre-forward to add more firepower upfront. The Gunners have been overly reliant on the Chilean as he scored nearly one-third of Arsenal goals in the league this past season.
A number of forwards have been linked to Arsenal including Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and Vivianne Miedema from Bayern Munich. With Lacazette inching closer to Atletico Madrid and Miedema looking set to remain at Bayern, Wenger will turn his attention to Thorgan Hazard.
The Belgian scored 11 goals and assisted seven times in 32 games, including four goals in the Champions League.
