Spain international Hector Bellerin has opened up the possibility of joining former club Barcelona after his family decided to return to Catalonia.

The 22-year-old has become one of the Premier League's finest full-backs since his breakthrough spell under Arsene Wenger during the 2014/15 season.

Bellerin had been the subject of strong interest from the Camp Nou outfit last summer, but the player appeared to end all speculation by inking a long-term deal until 2023.

Despite this, technical director Robert Fernandez had been spotted watching Bellerin on separate occasions last season with a view to negotiating a summer deal for his services.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the north London club could lose their prized asset in the summer with Barcelona keen on discussing a player-plus-cash deal for the Spaniard.

Rafinha, Denis Suarez and Arda Turan are among the transfer listed players at Camp Nou, and Barca are prepared to offer one of the trio in order to reduce Bellerin's valuation.

In a recent report on TalkSPORT, Bellerin admitted there is a possibility of a home return as 'it is now tougher' to live without his family in England.

Bellerin has won two FA Cups in his last three seasons with the Arsenal first-team, but the club have still made little progress in the Premier League.
