Real Madrid eye French forward ahead of Eden Hazard
Real Madrid are looking at the prospect of signing Monaco's Kylian Mbappe ahead of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, who recently suffered an ankle fracture.
The Belgium international looks likely to miss the start of the new season, and this in hand, has cooled off Los Blancos' pursuit of his services.
According to The Express, the European champions have set their sights on recruiting Mbappe, who could have a huge future alongside Marco Asensio in the attack front.
Asensio has already shown his huge potential from the substitutes' bench, and Los Blancos are prepared to move in for another attacker with Mbappe topping their shortlist.
Both Manchester City and former suitors Arsenal have tabled near world-record sums for the teenager, and it is suggested that Los Blancos will shatter all records by tabling a £122m bid for the wonderkid.
Any move for Mbappe could be dependent on the sale of Alvaro Morata, for whom Real have set a £78m asking price ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mbappe notched 26 goals for the Principality outfit during the previous campaign as they lifted the French title after a 17-year wait.
