Swansea defender on Tottenham radar

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is planning an approach for Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson following his impressive debut season in the Premier League.

The former Barnsley man joined the Welsh outfit on a £5m deal last summer and played a pivotal role in their quest to avoid top-flight relegation.

Mawson also came up with key goals from set pieces as he bagged four goals in 23 outings across all competitions last term.

According to The Sun, the north London giants are weighing up a £15m deal for the central defender as they look to find additional options at the heart of the backline.

Eric Dier is currently being linked with a £50m move to Manchester United, while the future of Toby Alderweireld is also uncertain following his reluctance to extend his contract.

Swans boss Paul Clement has previously insisted that the club do not require to sell their key players, but the chance to make a £10m on the player could be too good to refuse.
