Mbappe to Arsenal still on?

AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe could reportedly favour a switch to Arsenal, should he part ways with the Principality outfit this summer.

The 18-year-old's future has been the subject of immense speculation this month with suggestions that he could be sold on a world-record £100m deal.

In a report covered on Le10Sport, a close relative to Mbappe suggests that the teenager would knock back advances from other elite clubs in order to work alongside Arsene Wenger next season.

He added that the failure to qualify for the Champions League does not remain an obstacle as Wenger's stature is enough to lure the promising French prospect to the Emirates.

"Wenger is a great. If Kylian signs (for) Arsenal tomorrow, it will be for him. He knows how to (mould) young (players) and especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka. The Europa League is not an obstacle.” he said.

Mbappe notched 26 goals during a successful season with Monaco last term as they bagged their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years.

While they did manage to end Paris Saint-Germain's dominance, it could come at a cost this summer with several of their top players being eyed by Europe's best.

Bernardo Silva made the switch to Manchester City at the end of the season, and there could be further departures with Benjamin Mendy also on the verge of joining the Mancunian outfit.
