Antonio Conte provides injury update on Pedro and David Luiz
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has provided positive news on the fitness of first-team duo Pedro and David Luiz. The pair sustained ankle and wrist injuries respectively during the London derby against Arsenal last weekend.
In a report covered by Evening Standard, Conte revealed that Pedro is in contention for the Stoke City game after overcoming a minor knock on his ankle.
He said: "Pedro is fit for the game against Stoke on Saturday. Now it is very important to prepare. It is a very important game for us. This season Stoke have won at home against Arsenal and drawn against Manchester United. We must be ready."
Meanwhile, Conte confirmed that Luiz will be able to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night, he added: "He must be okay."
Luiz, who is currently on a three-match domestic suspension, has trained with the Blues in the past few days while wearing a splint on his left arm.
Chelsea did a domestic double over Stoke City during their title-winning campaign last term, but they may have to be cautious this time around with Mark Hughes' side having already impressed against Arsenal and Manchester United.
