Arsenal agree new long-term deal with midfielder

Mohamed Elneny news

Elneny commits long-term future to the Gunners

Arsenal have reportedly committed Mohamed Elneny to a fresh long-term contract. The Egypt international has managed 65 appearances for the club in all competitions since his switch from FC Basel in the winter of 2016.

The 25-year-old has been on the periphery of the Gunners' first-team this term with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey in front of him for a midfield role.

Regardless of this, the Egyptian has been rewarded with a new contract beyond the summer of 2020, a statement from the club's official website read: "We're pleased to announce that Mo Elneny has signed a new long-term contract with the club."

Elneny has been a valuable performer for the Gunners whenever called upon onto the pitch, and the fans will now hope that there is further good news regarding the futures of Wilshere and Ramsey.

Wilshere, who has been touted as a future captain at Arsenal, has his deal expiring in three months' time whilst Ramsey is contracted to the club until the summer of 2019.
