Michael Carrick drops update on Paul Pogba's future
Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has asserted that Paul Pogba would stay put at Old Trafford regardless of the ongoing speculation over the Frenchman's future.
The France international has had another stop-start campaign with the Red Devils and he still ended the season with a decent tally of six goals and 12 assists from 37 appearances.
Since then, Pogba has been linked with a potential return to the Serie A with former club but Carrick believes the 25-year-old has a long-term future with United.
"Of course he's got a future, he's a big player for us, he's a great age, he's got his peak years ahead of him. It's not even something I'd give a second thought to, to be honest." he told Sky Sports News.
Earlier this month, Pogba refused to confirm whether he would remain at United in the long-run but admitted he does not need to be friends with manager Jose Mourinho to perform for the Red Devils.
