Arsenal eyeing shock move for Mario Balotelli?
Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Mario Balotelli, who is expected to leave Nice at the expiry of his contract next month.
The Italy international has plyed his trade for Nice over the past two seasons where he has impressed with 42 goals in 64 appearances.
As a result, the 27-year-old is now eyeing a Bosman move elsewhere and La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Arsenal have joined a number of Serie A sides in the pursuit of the marksman.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery has allegedly been offered a pre-sales budget of just £70m and the 48-year-old could jump to sign Balotelli on a free transfer.
Nevertheless, the club are sufficiently equipped in the frontline with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Danny Welbeck all capable of featuring in the centre-forward role.
Balotelli recently made his international comeback for Italy against Saudi Arabia after a four-year wait and he scored the opener in the 2-1 friendly triumph.
