AC Milan CEO rules out Manchester United move for Bonucci

AC Milan CEO, Marco Fassone has said that defender Leonardo Bonucci will not be leaving the San Siro, and will stay at the club for a long time, Mirror Football reports.

Fassone admitted that Milan are negotiating the future of some of its players, but Bonucci is not one of such players.

Manchester United have been linked with the Italian with Jose Mourinho looking to bolster his defence with the experienced Italian.

It was thought that the transfer will be easier for United to carry out after AC Milan was banned from European football for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, but Fassone's declaration has put that in serious doubt.

United may eventually have to turn their attention away from Bonucci as they look to get a stronger defence.

Since the glory days of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, United have not been able to get the right defensive partnership that will be able to play together consistently.

In some occasions last season, and in previous seasons, goalkeeper David De Gea has saved United amid the disorganisation at the back.
