Arsenal close to securing their fourth summer signing
BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein has said that Arsenal are on the cusp of securing the signing of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria in the upcoming week.
The Uruguay international has been heavily tipped to join the Gunners this summer and he is supposedly free to undergo a medical after his team were ousted from the World Cup.
Writing on his official Twitter account, Ornstein confirmed that the Gunners are on the brink of pursuing the Uruguayan, who impressed during the latter stages of the ongoing World Cup.
"Arsenal hope to complete Lucas Torreira deal next week. Agreed with Sampdoria & 22yo. Medical + signing imminent - depends if he flies straight from #WorldCup to London or via #URU," he tweeted.
Arsenal have been keen on finalising most of their transfer business ahead of pre-season and so far, they have recruited the services of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos - with the former arriving on a free from Juventus.
