Liverpool have made an improved offer of £20m for Croatian defender Domagoj Vida, according to Mirror Football.

Liverpool had made a £15.9m and £17.5m bid respectively for the Besiktas defender.

Jurgen Klopp's side have shown intent by increasing the offer for the World Cup runner up. Besiktas reportedly want nothing less than £30m for the defender.

Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested in signing the player, with Everton and Leicester also paying attention.

Vida was great in defence for Croatia alongside Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, helping their national side reach the final of the biggest football competition in the world.

If Klopp can get Vida, the Reds will be boasting of one of the strongest 29-year-old defenders who has the endurance to play a series of lengthy and clustered games. He displayed this for Croatia as they made it to their first World Cup final.

Ahead of the start of the season, Liverpool have also signed Xherdan Shaqiri from the relegated Stoke City for £13m.
