Chelsea edging closer to third summer signing
Chelsea are reportedly close to acquiring the services of Pepe Reina from AC Milan in the transfer window.
The Spain international only recently joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer but he is now being fancied to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
According to Tuttosport, the Blues have lodged a bid worth £5m for the shot-stopper, who has previously spent nine seasons with Liverpool in the English top-flight.
It is added that Blues officials have made their way to Milan in order to commence further with the deal and there is a high possibility that the 35-year-old could make a return to the Premier League.
Milan are expected to recoup around £45m in order to stay within the Financial Fair Play regulations and Reina could be one of those making way with the opportunity of making an instant profit.
Chelsea have already signed Rob Green on a free transfer to take up the third-choice goalkeeper role. Reina's potential arrival may coincide with Thibaut Courtois' departure from Stamford Bridge.
