West Ham United interested in Chelsea midfielder
West Ham United are reportedly planning to extend their spending spree with a potential move for Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater this summer.
The 28-year-old had a tough debut season for the Blues last term where he made just 12 appearances and he is now being tipped to head through the exit door.
According to The Mirror, the Hammers are eager to reinforce the squad further as part of Manuel Pellegrini's rebuilding project and Drinkwater is the latest player to have propped up their radar.
Nonetheless, they may be reluctant to match the £35m asking price for the midfielder and the Blues may have to re-consider lowering the valuation of the England international.
Aside from West Ham, former club Leicester City have also been linked with a surprise attempt to re-sign Drinkwater but they are only willing to offer around £20m for his services.
West Ham United have spent more than £90m on seven separate signings this summer and their most recent one was the club-record capture of Felipe Anderson from Lazio.
