Chelsea offer Kante new deal
Chelsea have offered French midfielder N'golo Kante a new five-year £290,000-a-week deal in a bid to keep him at Stamford Bridge, according to Standard Sport.
The club record deal is meant to ensure that the player stays at Chelsea amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The French club are interested in signing the World Cup winner as they bid to bolster their squad in order to push for the UEFA Champions League trophy.
The former Leicester City player is reportedly unwilling to join PSG, but that has not stopped the Ligue 1 winners from pursuing the midfielder.
This will be a boost for new coach Maurizio Sarri who needs all his top players if he wants to better the performance of his predecessor and compatriot Antonio Conte.
So far, Chelsea have signed only Jorginho from Napoli and may have successfully kept Eden Hazard for another season after scaring Real Madrid away by placing a £200m price tag on the Belgian.
Ahead of their Community Shield clash with Manchester City this Sunday, Chelsea will face Arsenal in a friendly game on Wednesday.
