David Ornstein updates on Arsenal's interest in Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele news

Ornstein - Arsenal's interest in Dembele is false

BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein has indicated that the club are unlikely to pursue Ousmane Dembele in the ongoing transfer window.

The France international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this month amid claims that he is eyeing regular gametime elsewhere.

Writing on his official Twitter account, Ornstein said that the Gunners are nowhere close to pursuing the attacker and the reports associating him with the north London club are false.

He added to suggest that the club are still far off from finalising a contract with midfielder Aaron Ramsey despite the Telegraph recently claiming that the Welshman was close to an extension.

Arsenal have not made a single signing since July and it now appears certain that no one else will be joining the club unless they have asked for an extension to lure one of their targets.

Unai Emery's side begin their Premier League campaign on Sunday with a home game against Manchester City and the Spaniard is likely to feel the pressure from the off, should the club fail to produce a positive result.
