Harry Arter joins Cardiff City on deadline day
Harry Arter has made a surprise transfer deadline move away from Bournemouth to Premier League rivals Cardiff City. The Welsh side have paid a reported future£2.25 million transfer fee to secure the defensive midfielder, who is expected to play an important part in Cardiff City's first-team plans this season. Arter arrives at the club on a season long loan deal.
The 28-year-old, who has played over 250 games for Bournemouth since his arrival eight years ago, had been looking for a new challenge and had decided to make a move elsewhere to pursue new interests. The Republic of Ireland international had also been linked with a transfer to Wolves, Burnley, Stoke City and Sunderland; but instead opted to make a move to the newly promoted Premier League side.
Arter will initially play for the Bluebirds on a loan deal but that is expected to be made permanent at the end of this season and a transfer fee will be paid to Bournemouth depending on Arter's appearances this season.
