Danny Ings swaps Liverpool for Southampton
Forward Danny Ings is hoping to rejuvenate his injury-ravaged career with a loan transfer to Premier League rivals Southampton from Liverpool. The England international, who has found his first-team opportunities limited since his move from Burnley to Anfield, has decided to make a temporary move to the south coast.
The 26-year-old has played just six times in the Premier League for Liverpool and after having productive conversations with club manager Jurgen Klopp, the striker has now opted to move elsewhere in search of regular first-team football.
The striker is unquestionably talented but has so far failed to rekindle the form that made him one of the Premier League's most highly rated young strikers while with the Clarets and will be hoping that a link-up with Charlie Austin at Southampton will give him prime opportunity to prove that he can still play for England's national team.
Southampton will also be able to make the transfer deal permanent at any time for a fee of £10 million.
