Chelsea boss confirms more player departures
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has acknowledged that the club could part ways with a number of players before the transfer window closes across Europe.
Most European sides are able to make signings for the next few weeks at the least and Sarri has admitted that he is happy to trim the playing squad at Stamford Bridge.
"Now I think the squad is too large. Some players have to go on loan. I don't know who at the moment. I prefer to have 23, 24 players and three or four very young players. No more," he said.
Sarri made the comments in the pre-match conference ahead of the Huddersfield Town game and the Blues have since permitted the loan exits of Michy Batshuayi and Kurt Zouma to Valencia and Everton respectively.
Chelsea made the most of the final days of the English transfer window to recruit the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Mateo Kovacic and it will be interesting to see whether the recent signings will feature at Huddersfield.
