Chelsea give Cahill permission to talk to Turkish side

Gary Cahill news

Chelsea have given Gary Cahill permission to talk to Turkish side Galatasaray about a possible move, according to reports.

According to Fotomac, Galatasaray's president has met with Chelsea's director Marina Granovskaia to discuss the deal.

During the transfer window in England, there were uncertainties over the future of the former Bolton man, with Manchester United favoured to sign him at some point.

Chelsea's first two Premier League games have further put his future in doubt with Maurizio Sarri leaving him out of the 18-man squad for both games.

Cahill has spent over six-and-a-half years at Chelsea after joining them from Bolton Wanderers in January, 2012.

Since his move, he has played 279 games for Chelsea, scoring 24 goals. He made 27 Premier League appearances under former Blues boss Antonio Conte last season.

Sarri has featured David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in his opening Premier League games and chased Juventus' Daniele Rugani during the transfer window.

The Blues will face Newcastle United this weekend, and with recent happenings, it is not expected that Cahill will feature.
