Giovani Lo Celso swaps PSG for Real Betis
Argentinian midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has completed a loan transfer deal from Paris St Germain to Spanish La Liga side Real Betis. The talented starlet will spend the season on loan in order to gain first-team experience, after being told by PSG that he would not be a regular starter this campaign.
The Ligue 1 side had opted to move the player on to a club where he would be playing on a regular basis, after PSG manager Thomas Tuchel informed Lo Celso that he would be mainly warming the bench this year.
The talented 22-year-old, who has been linked with a move to numerous teams so far this summer, told reporters that he is excited about the transfer to Spain: "I'm very proud to be at a club with such a great history. One of the things that made me come was the club's project. Any player would get motivated by it."
Lo Celso had been a first-team regular last campaign under former manager Unai Emery, where the midfielder appeared in 48 games in 2017-18.
