Zinedine Zidane draws up Manchester United transfer shortlist

Zinedine Zidane news

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly drawn up a list of transfer targets, should he be appointed as the next Manchester United head coach.

The French legend is currently a free agent after deciding to part ways with Los Blancos where he had helped them to win three successive Champions League crowns.

According to The Mirror, Zidane is desperate to succeed Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and he has already drawn up a transfer shortlist including Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara and Edinson Cavani, should he take control of the club.

Mourinho's position at United remains secure after the recent league win over Burnley but any lapse in the coming weeks may put further pressure on the board to consider the Portuguese's future.

The 55-year-old is presently the frontrunner among all Premier League managers to be sacked this season and his side have a testing challenge against Watford to contend following the ongoing international break.
