Jordan Pickford hails Manchester United star as the world's best in his position
Everton star Jordan Pickford believes Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is the best in the business in his position despite an average start to the season.
The Spain international received plenty of criticism for his showing with La Roja at the summer World Cup and he has since begun the Premier League season in a slow fashion with just one clean sheet to boost.
Despite this, Watford's Ben Foster recently praised De Gea as the 'Lionel Messi of goalkeepers' and Pickford has now followed suit to hail him as the best in the world at present.
"De Gea is probably the best in the world right now. As a goalkeeper you want to be the best but you can only get better by playing games, making saves and putting in man-of-the-match performances," Pickford told The Telegraph.
Manchester United had to settle for a rather disappointing 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their recent Premier League meeting and this sees them eight points behind leaders Liverpool after just six games played.
