Ferdinand: I did not see United make three successive passes against West Ham
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has blasted the Old Trafford side's Premier League performance against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
United were defeated by three goals to one, and the former England international has said that Jose Mourinho's men did not work hard enough in the encounter.
Speaking to BT Sport (via BBC.com), he said: "As a footballer your DNA is about hard work and effort. I didn't see that today. I didn't see them make two or three passes in succession - that's criminal. I don't see enough players working hard to say to the manager 'this is my place in the team'. You've got to work hard and grind and Man Utd didn't."
Ferdinand went ahead to say that there are some big decisions to be made at United at the moment, adding that there will be conversations within the hierarchy of the club about the future of Mourinho and his players.
United have now failed to win their last three games, having failed to win against Wolves and Derby County (in the League Cup) prior to this encounter.
West Ham on the other hand are on a high, having won three of their last four games. The wins include an 8-0 thumping of Macclesfield Town in the Carabao League Cup in midweek.
