Liverpool suffer injury blow with midfielder out for a month
Liverpool are expected to be without the services of James Milner for around a month after he sustained a hamstring injury during the recent 0-0 Premier League draw against Manchester City.
The former England international was taken off the field after just 26 minutes with a suspected muscular problem and The Mail now confirms that he should be sidelined for a month.
According to the report, the midfielder has managed to avoid a long-term injury but the damage is still said to be significant enough to witness his absence for the remainder of the month.
As such, Milner is certain to miss the Premier League games against Huddersfield and Cardiff City following the international break alongside the Champions League clash versus Red Star Belgrade sandwiched between the two fixtures.
Jurgen Klopp has generally juggled between Milner, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita for the three midfield spots in the league but he may consider offering Fabinho his league debut after the recent injury setback.
