Chelsea defender admits he may consider fresh challenge
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has admitted that he is frustrated with the reduced gametime since Maurizio Sarri took charge of the west London outfit.
The Denmark international made his breakthrough with the Blues under Antonio Conte last term and he went on to make 40 appearances across all competitions.
However, he has not been able to command a similar role this season with Sarri favouring the likes of David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger ahead of him in the pecking order and he has now admitted that a future exit could be a possibility.
Speaking to Danish publication BT, Christensen said: "It has been a hard season and to be honest, it has been very difficult. I cannot stand to have so much patience again."
"Now I’m 22 years old and I really want to play. In the last three seasons, I’ve played, so it’s clear that I do not see myself staying if my current situation is also true in the future."
Christensen has managed just three appearances for the Blues since the start of the current campaign and none of those have come in the Premier League where Luiz and Rudiger continue to get the nod in central defence.
He has featured in both the Europa League games for the Blues this campaign alongside the third round League Cup tie versus Liverpool which ended in his side's favour.
