Bournemouth boss responds to Callum Wilson's Chelsea transfer link
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has dismissed the prospect of Callum Wilson joining Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
A recent report from The Sun indicated that the Blues could make a £35m offer to pursue the in-form striker as they remain concerns regarding the consistency of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.
However, speaking before the Newcastle game, Howe indicated that he has no plans of parting ways with Wilson, who is regarded as one of the most influential players.
"Of course not. From my position, sitting here as the manager, I'm looking to build a team. I'm really pleased with how the squad is set up and the structure of it and I don't want to break that," he said.
Wilson has impressed in the Premier League this campaign with six goals and five assists across all competitions but he could not find the scoresheet in the recent 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.
Nonetheless, he has earned a call-up to the England national side for the very first time and hopefully, he can make a quick impression under the guidance of Gareth Southgate.
