Juventus reject Morata in Higuain swap

Serie A holders Juventus have declined the prospect of a swap deal with Chelsea, which would involve Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata switching clubs.

The Blues have earmarked Higuain as the prime target to bolster the frontline this month and they have already opened up discussions with both Juventus and AC Milan - with the latter currently possessing the player's services on a two-year loan contract.

However, according to Calciomercato, they seem to have reached a potential stumbling block with the Bianconeri not keen on selling Higuain in an exchange deal involving ex-player Morata.

It is added that the Turin giants would prefer a straight cash agreement for Higuain instead, though the Blues remain reluctant to match the hefty £45m valuation for the marksman.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has recently voiced his concern regarding the frontline with both Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata struggling for goals. Eden Hazard has been tasked to lead the line in a false nine role of late.
