Man Utd join race to sign Yannick Carrasco
Manchester United are back in the race to sign Belgian international winger Yannick Carrasco, according to a report from the player's homeland of Belgium. Carrasco, who currently plays in China, is said to be desperate for a move to the Premier League this summer.
It appears that an attempt by Arsenal to resurrect a deal for Carrasco in the summer has been pulled, with Unai Emery being informed that he must carefully balance the books before spending a large fee on a player of Carrasco's calibre.
It is understood that now Man Utd are ready to pay up to £50 million to secure a transfer for the former Atletico Madrid star.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be busy in the transfer window - his first since officially being appointed Manchester United manager - and Carrasco could even be his first signing at Man Utd.
There are several teams across Europe monitoring Carrasco's situation, but it appears that the player himself is desperate to move to England as opposed to returning to Spain, where Valencia and Real Sociedad are in the race to sign the player.
