Arsenal making move for Bundesliga defender?
Arsenal are reportedly looking to strengthen their backline with the recruitment of defender Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
The north London giants experienced a disastrous end to the season with a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final, and this meant that they missed the chance of qualifying for next season's Europa League.
According to ESPN, the Gunners are now expected to reinforce their squad during the transfer window and they could begin the spending with the signing of Leipzig's Upamecano.
The 20-year-old was recently part of the strongest defence in the German Bundesliga and reports indicate that he won't come on the cheap despite his contract expiring in two years' time.
Arsenal are said to be working on a restricted £40m budget for the summer but that is likely to be enhanced with the departure of a number of players from the current squad.
Shkodran Mustafi, Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mohamed Elneny are some of the players, who could be shown the exit door during this summer's transfer window.
