Emery in constant contact with Meunier over Arsenal move

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly been in constant contact with Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier regarding a potential move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Belgium international was restricted to just 22 appearances in the French top-flight last term and it has since been claimed that he could pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Amidst this, the Gunners have been touted to regularly make an approach and L'Equipe claims that Emery has been in constant contact with the right-back to lure him to north London.

The Capital outfit have already confirmed that Stephan Lichtsteiner will leave at the expiry of his contract this month and that leaves them short in the right-back role with Hector Bellerin due to miss the beginning of next season with a knee problem.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been the regular choice for the right-back role in the past six months but there remains no reliable back-up with Carl Jenkinson barely impressing for the Gunners.

Meunier is currently rated in the region of £25m.
