Manchester United identify prime target to replace Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba news

Eriksen wanted at Manchester United?

Manchester United could reportedly make a surprise approach to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur, should they part ways with Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba was the club's leading scorer last term with 16 goals in all competitions and he was still the subject of criticism from many fans due to the consistency in terms of the performances.

Amidst this, he has been regularly touted to make a switch to Real Madrid and The Mirror claims that United have already made up a list of targets, who could possibly replace the Frenchman.

Among those, Eriksen is said to be one of the prime targets on their radar, considering the Dane has just 12 months remaining on his existing deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

United are keen on adding more creativity to their attack front this summer and Eriksen appears a genuine fit for the role, given his regular success in the top-flight.

Still, the prospect of replacing Pogba with Eriksen does not make much sense, considering the former has been plying his trade in the central midfield on most occasions during his time at Old Trafford.

Pogba has been valued at around £130m amid the speculated interest from Real Madrid and his departure provide United with more than sufficient funds to tempt Spurs into selling Eriksen.
