Manchester United want Atletico Madrid star to replace Paul Pogba

Manchester United have reportedly earmarked Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba has publicly revealed that he would prefer a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford this summer and this has caught the attention of both Real Madrid and Juventus.

According to AS, the Red Devils are planning for the potential departure of the Frenchman and they have made initial contact with Atletico regarding the services of Saul.

The same report suggests that the Mancunian giants won't have an easy task of pursuing the Spain international and may have to trigger the player's £135m release clause in full to acquire his signature.

Atletico have parted ways with some of their big names including Diego Godin and Rodri this summer and they are expected to sanction the sale of Antoine Griezmann in the next few days.

United, on the other hand, are seemingly close to acquiring a creative midfielder in the form of Bruno Fernandes. They are presently discussing a transfer fee with Sporting for the Portuguese.
