French defender set to join Arsenal after snubbing Tottenham Hotspur
French defender William Saliba is on course to join Arsenal during this summer's transfer window despite the late transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The centre-back had been on course to join the Gunners in a £27m deal earlier in the month but the move was stalled after Spurs decided to make an improved offer for the teenager.
Since then, the Gunners are understood to have revised their proposal for the Saint-Etienne graduate and Peuple-Vert claims that the defender will be heading to the Emirates this summer.
Arsenal are understood to have agreed on a £29.8m fee with a further £6.5m in add-ons, but Saliba is expected to return to Saint-Etienne on a season-long loan shortly after an announcement is made.
Saliba only made his breakthrough during the 2018/19 season where he made 16 appearances in the French top-flight. He has made an appearance through all youth sides with France but has yet to earn a senior call-up.
