Gary Cahill joins Crystal Palace on free transfer
Crystal Palace have reached agreement with Gary Cahill to sign the former Chelsea defender on a free transfer. Cahill will arrive at Roy Hodgson's side on a 2 year deal and will add valuable experience to a squad that has been depleted in the transfer window.
Cahill won two Premier League titles at Chelsea and the defender could make his debut against Everton this weekend in the Eagles' first game of the new season.
Speaking of his transfer move, Cahill told reporters: “I’m glad to be here. I think it’s a good opportunity for me to continue my career in the Premier League and to play in a good, exciting team.
“There are some very exciting, talented players here. I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m hungry to prolong my career as long as I possibly can.
“I feel like I’m in great shape and whoever I play for, I’d like to think that I give it 110 per cent and leave everything out there, so hopefully that will be good enough for the manager, my team-mates and also the fans.”
