Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has expressed his delight after the Blues registered a comfortable 4-1 win over Southampton on the road on Sunday.

The west London side had gone into the game with a three-match winning streak and they were quick off the blocks with goals from Tammy Abraham and Mount in the opening 25 minutes.

Danny Ings pulled one goal back for the Saints in the 30th minute but the Blues were in control with Kante doubling the advantage once more before the break.

Frank Lampard's side eventually sealed a 4-1 win after a late goal from Michy Batshuayi off the bench following an assist from Christian Pulisic, who made his first league appearance in more than a month.

Speaking after the game, Mount was impressed with the outcome on the road but said that there is room for improvement with the defending after failing to keep a clean sheet once more.

"It's been going good away from home. There are little things we can work on, obviously conceding, and we had a tough period but away from home we've been very good," he told BBC Sport.

With the victory, the Capital outfit have accumulated 14 points from eight matches and they are behind fourth-placed Leicester City on only goal difference heading into the international break.
