Manchester United and Liverpool to compete for German star?
Manchester United and Liverpool will reportedly battle it out to secure the signature of Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich in January.
The Germany international has been reduced to a bench role this term with the arrival of summer signings Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic on loan.
According to The Mirror, the experienced attacker has grown frustrated with the limited gametime and he will seek a move away from the Allianz Arena in the New Year.
It is added that both United and Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 30-year-old's situation and they could enter a bidding battle for the attacker when the transfer window reopens.
Muller has been regularly linked with the Reds in the past and manager Jurgen Klopp notably failed with an approach for the World Cup winner in the summer of 2017.
United, on the other hand, have not made any move for Muller previously but the hierarchy are keen on pursuing a couple of creative players at the turn of the year.
