Jose Mourinho wants ex-Chelsea graduate at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on pursuing a mid-season deal for Nathan Ake, who was previously in the ranks of London rivals Chelsea.
The Netherlands international sealed his permanent move to the Cherries from Stamford Bridge in 2017 and he has since been one of their most consistent performers in the Premier League.
As a result, there has been the talk of the Blues re-signing the Dutchman but Football Insider claims that Mourinho may urge Spurs to make an approach for the versatile defender.
The Blues currently have a buy-back clause worth £40m in Ake's contract but they won't be able to activate the option in the New Year unless they win their appeal against the transfer ban.
Even then, it is unclear whether Frank Lampard wants the Dutchman to make a comeback and Mourinho could take advantage to lure him to the north London giants.
The contracts of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are scheduled to expire at the end of the season and there is likely to be a reshuffle at the heart of the Spurs backline.
