Mauricio Pochettino wants immediate return to management
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that he wants an immediate return to management amid the speculated interest from Arsenal.
The Argentine was surprisingly sacked from the head coach role at Spurs during the international break and he was instantly replace with ex-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Since then, Arsenal have dismissed Unai Emery from the managerial post and reports have emerged that Pochettino is one of the prime candidates considered for the permanent head coach position.
Speaking to Fox Sports Argentina, Pochettino revealed that he had returned to his home country for a short-term break but he is more than open to listening to interesting projects in Europe.
"I expect to return to Europe to make decisions on my future. My best decision was to come to Argentina to switch off for ten days. At my age I don't need a lot of time to recover. I am open to listen to projects put before me," he told.
During his time at Spurs, Pochettino cited that he would reject any approach from Arsenal due to the rivalry between the north London sides and it remains to be seen whether he maintains the same stance, if the Gunners come up with a contract offer.
