Chelsea, Manchester United want to sign Paris Saint-Germain star?
Manchester United and Chelsea have both expressed their interest in signing Edinson Cavani whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of the season.
Cavani has struggled for regular starts for the French champions this term and that has partly contributed to the injury concerns during the first half of the campaign.
With just six months remaining on his deal, Atletico Madrid have been tipped to sign him on a free next summer but L'Equipe claims that both Chelsea and United have made late proposals to the marksman.
It is added that the former are prepared to sign him during the winter transfer window itself, considering they are expected to sanction the sale of Olivier Giroud before the end of the month.
Les Parisiens boss Thomas Tuchel has refused to talk about the possibility of Cavani leaving the club in January but the French club may be tempted to accept a cut-price fee rather than losing the striker for nothing next summer.
