Tottenham close to signing Turkish goalkeeper
Tottenham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
Spurs have identified the Super Lig youngster as the backup to the Frenchman Hugo Lloris.
According to The Sun, Spurs' staff will hold talks with the representatives of the Turkish outfit over a potential summer move.
Bayindir, 21, has been the Fenerbahce's No.1 since joining them in the last summer. He has managed to secure five clean sheets in 22 appearances this season.
The Turkish youngster has so far earned six caps for his nation's U-21 side.
Spurs were forced to field Paulo Gazzaniga following Lloris’ injury at the start of this season. Though the Argentine was able to show a glimpse of his talent, he couldn’t replicate the success of the French international.
The North London club were also said to be interested in signing Ajax keeper Andre Onana, but Chelsea have reportedly won the race for his signature.
Spurs have leapfrogged Sheffield United to the fifth position in the table following the 3-2 win against Aston Villa.
