Olivier Giroud reacts after Chelsea's win against Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has spoken about the importance of picking up three points after the Blues sealed a 2-1 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Blues faced the possibility of being leapfrogged by Spurs to the fourth place in the standings but they managed to avoid the situation with a comfortable win on their homeground.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with a splendid shot in the 15th minute and Marcos Alonso doubled the advantage following the break with a stellar long-range strike.
Antonio Rudiger did create a nervy finish for the Blues after the own goal conceded but the Blues managed to hold on for the win to maintain their fourth spot on the table.
Speaking after the game, Giroud was pleased with an important win for the side and added that it was a special day for him to score on his first start in three months.
"It was a very important game for us today. I want to talk about the team spirit. We've shown great character today. It's been three months I didn't start, it's been a special day for me and all of us," he told via BBC Sport.
Chelsea are scheduled to host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 stage on Tuesday night. Giroud could lead the line once more after his key goal in the London derby.
