Burley says Arsenal should sign Jimenez

ESPN pundit Craig Burley has urged Arsenal to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette has endured a difficult campaign by his standards with the Gunners and he has netted on just two occasions over the past couple of months.

He has recently fallen down the pecking order for the striker's role with Eddie Nketiah favoured upfront and this has spread speculation over his future with the club.

Speaking on the ESPN FC show, Burley believes the Gunners need a strong physical presence through the middle and Jimenez would perfectly fit as the replacement for the Frenchman.

"If you had [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang on the left and a big physical presence through the middle, that would make sense to me," he told.

"I'm sure there are other options there for Arteta, but this guy [Jimenez] Arsenal sides through the years have been a bit soft, this guy's not soft."

Jimenez has shown a consistent run of scoring form for Wolves over the past 20 months and in the current campaign, he has already contributed 22 goals across all competitions.

In addition to this, he has also impressed with his superb link-up play in the final third and has bagged nine assists. He is currently valued in excess of £65m by the west Midlands outfit.
