Chelsea to miss out on signing Timo Werner?
Chelsea have reportedly given up in their pursuit of Timo Werner with Liverpool said to be in advanced negotiations to sign the RB Leipzig forward.
The Blues were heavily linked with a move for the Germany international in January but ultimately, they decided against making any new signings at the midway stage of the campaign.
Still, they have continued to be credited with an interest in the marksman but The Athletic claims that they are outsiders in the player's pursuit when compared to Jurgen Klopp's side.
Owing to this, the west London giants are deemed to have shifted their attention towards Moussa Dembele, who could push for a fresh challenge away from Lyon this summer.
Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are presently the striker options for manager Frank Lampard. It is unclear whether the club will part ways with either Giroud or Batshuayi this summer.
Chelsea are presently fourth in the league standings with 48 points.
