Chelsea, Manchester City enter race to sign Barcelona target
Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City have joined the race to sign reported Barcelona target Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.
The 22-year-old has been touted to join the Blaugrana over the past year and reports have emerged that they will trigger his £97m release clause in the summer.
However, according to Sport, it is suggested that they could face stiff competition from Chelsea and City, who are both eyeing reinforcements in the centre-forward department.
The Blues are keen on landing a new marksman in the summer with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi likely to head through the exit door in a few months' time.
Meanwhile, the Cityzens are understood to be eyeing a young striker in their ranks with Sergio Aguero likely to pursue a fresh challenge by the end of next season.
Martinez has netted 16 goals during the course of the current campaign. Barcelona are deemed to have recently agreed personal terms with the striker but they have yet to finalise a deal with the Nerazzurri.
